sturdy material, hefty enough so dogs can't push it around easily, I was expecting it to be more like plastic, composite, or silicone, but it's like a sticky rubbery material

Slower Feasting
I took the plunge and purchased a Feast Mat for one of my mini aussies. Wink is 12 and has always been a fast eater, so fast he would try and nose into the other dogs bowls while they were eating. The mat works to slow him down to the point where all the dogs finish about the same time. Using the dishwasher to clean it makes things very easy. The only minor drawback is that I usually add liquid to their meals so I need to be careful not to add too much to the mat.
