From packaging to products—the earth is in the details. |
(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, BOZEMAN, MONTANA) For West Paw, how they house, hang, and tag their products is as important as what the products are made from. This is why they go to great lengths to source safe and strong packaging materials that are recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable. The company also designs their packaging (and products) to use the least amount of material, because after all, the earth is in the details. West Paw Packaging Facts:West Paw’s latest collection of safe, non-toxic pet toys and feeding accessories, Seaflex™, not only saves plastic from winding up in our oceans but the products are is printed on Earthboard® which is 100% recycled paperboard that is recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable. For West Paw’s sustainably-sourced Bison Lung and Bison Heart Air-Dried Treats, the company uses recyclable bags that have the How2Recycle® badges on back - so customers can take them to a store drop off for recycling. West Paw’s Freeze Dried treats will be moving to this packaging material later in 2022. West Paw’s Zogoflex®, Outings® and Strolls® and all plush toy and bed packaging does not use virgin paper, choosing instead Forest Sustainability Certified paper in their packaging. Additionally, all packaging has passed the Toxins In Packaging Clearing House (TCPH®) certifications and all packaging, that is not EarthBoard, is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certified. Additionally, West Paw uses soy-based inks in all of their packaging. In addition to West Paw’s eco-friendly packaging efforts, West Paw has diverted over 16M plastic bottles from going into the landfill by incorporating recycled polyester fill and batting, which the company calls IntelliLoft®, inside their plush toys and beds. They also use recycled polyester webbing for their collars and leashes. Zogoflex and Seaflex toys are zero-waste and infinitely recyclable through the company’s Join the Loop®, a closed-loop recycling program. Seaflex dog toys and feeding accessories are made from 12% ocean bound plastic.
